Catch of the Day: Follow the Leda
CATCH OF THE DAY: Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World may have inspired many parallels in Orphan Black, but the connections don’t stop there. Huxley, in addition to being a foundational figure for dystopian literature, was also a poet. In 1920, he published a collection of poems titled Leda. Yes, that’s right, the massive overarching Orphan Black origin project mystery not only shares a name with the Greek myth of Leda, but Huxley’s poetry as well. And it’s a beautiful connection.

Catch of the Day: Splitting Hairs on Orphan Black
CATCH OF THE DAY: While it was obvious that we didn't see much of Kira in Orphan Black's Season 2 premiere, you might not have noticed that it was Kira who bookended the episode, making for a very ominous start to the season.

Catch of the Day: The Force of LoVe
CATCH OF THE DAY: Marshmallows (specifically the respective sub-division of Veronica/Logan shippers), today is your day to feel the feels. Since we have all recently undergone an intense 64 episode re-watch in preparation for the Veronica Mars movie, it's no surprise we've found some parallels within the series that will only amplify your love for "LoVe."

Catch of the Day: Playing Passenger on The Vampire Diaries
CATCH OF THE DAY: We all know The Vampire Diaries has no lack of great music, and the 100th episode, "500 Years of Solitude," did not disappoint. In this episode, while beloved character Katherine Pierce was lying on her deathbed and the rest of the characters were waiting for her to kick the bucket, a musical cue solidified our stance that Katherine wasn't ready to take a walk on The Other Side just yet.

Catch of the Day: Pretty Little Palmers
CATCH OF THE DAY: In many ways, ABC Family's hit television series Pretty Little Liars is largely inspired by the critically acclaimed 1990's TV series Twin Peaks. Though the most glaring similarity between the shows is that each centers around the mysterious disappearance and subsequent murder of a popular, young, blonde teenager, Pretty Little Liars is not shy when drawing upon Twin Peaks for further, more subtle inspiration. In recent episodes of Pretty Little Liars, the character of Dr. Louis Palmer was introduced. Though a seemingly fleeting character, he is crucial to finding out what really happened to Toby Cavanaugh's mother in Radley sanitarium, and is aptly named after one of Twin Peaks' most pivotal characters: Leland Palmer.

Catch of the Day: The Crazy Ones is Buffy to the Bone(s)
CATCH OF THE DAY: Everyone with a pulse (vampires were not included in this survey) knows that Sarah Michelle Geller is best known for her breakout role as the title character the late, great WB Drama, Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Most recently, however, Geller took a new role as Sydney Roberts in CBS's new comedy The Crazy Ones. But, if you aren't keen with actors' names or Buffy story lines, or if you're one of those people who's been watching The Crazy Ones for Robin Williams, then this Buffy actor reference in episode 1x06 "Hugging The Now" might have passed you by.

Catch of the Day: Throwback Thursday, Vampire Edition
CATCH OF THE DAY: So far, Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries has been all about seeing double. But, in the episode "For Whom The Bell Tolls," it's also about hearing double. Songs that have played in past episodes as far back as Seasons 1 and 2 are resurrected in the episode dedicated to honoring its dead and remembering the past. Now that's what we call a Throwback Thursday.

Catch of the Day: Enter Miranda, Stage Left
CATCH OF THE DAY: There could not have been a better opportunity to introduce Miranda, the main character of ABC Family's new show Ravenswood, than in the Pretty Little Liars Halloween special, "Grave New World." Why, you may ask? Well, because even though you might recognize the episode title as a pun of Aldous Huxley's famous novel, Brave New World, the book actually gets its title from the dialogue of a character named (you guessed it) Miranda in Shakespeare's play The Tempest.

Catch of the Day: Mr. Sandman, Bring Me Some Biblical References
CATCH OF THE DAY: We all know Sleepy Hollow is loaded with references to the Book of Revelation. But, Episode 1x03, "For the Triumph of Evil," also delivered a quick nod to the writing on the wall in the Book of Daniel that you might have missed. Biblical references for the win!
